Park day and stuff

I hope everyone is being quiet because you're having a fantastic time doing whatever is keeping you busy. :-) We've been keeping busy swimming and hot tubbing at the apartment complex, running to the grocery store every so often, and stuff. Angelica and I went to a sports equipment store called Academy Sports and Outdoors (1). There's a lot of cool stuff we'd like. lol. When our ship comes in I guess, assuming that ship has even set sail. lol. Other than that, Angelica has put in a few more applications at some fast-food places. I've been doing online reading and homework assignments for my JavaScript class. Eldin has been studying computer games and online videos. You know, just day-to-day stuff. Today we went to a park and met with some other homeschoolers and played in a water thing that has water shooting up in several spots, coming down in a shower-like thingy, etc. They call them "Splash Pads"(2). It was fun, but we only had Ramen for breakfast. By the time 3 o'clock rolled around (we got there between 1:30 & 2 PM), we were starving, so we came home. Changed clothes, told Eldin to put his shoes on, and I took us to Jack N' The Box for some real food that was delicious. I had the first cola I've drank in like 4 or 5 days. Didn't even get a refill, but boy was that Mellow Yellow tasty though! By the way, it's been almost 2 weeks since I quit smoking cigarettes. So far so good. Tomorrow we'll be driving to Dallas/Garland TX to see Mary's granddaughter perform in the Karaoke semi finals.

Building 6 Travis Station bee problem cleanup

Apparently there was a huge colony of bees above the second floor staircase. That was Friday, and this was the cleanup. Not good. I'm guessing it was quitting time for bee handlers :-(

These pictures were taking Sunday afternoon, but the "work" was done on Friday, 2 days ago.

Breakfast and what to do

For breakfast we had the usual (1 hamburger & 2 slices of bacon each) oven cooked sustenance. Then I refilled my weekly medicine holder into the "AM" and "PM" dosages for the remainder of this week and most of the next. After Angelica finished eating, she poured the bacon grease from the cooking sheet into the bacon grease jar. She also washed and seasoned the iron skillet that the hamburgers were cooked in the oven in. She's awesome!

After breakfast we all headed back to our computers. Not long after that, after the food digested a little, for like 20-30 minutes (if that), all 3 of us walked over to the front office/snack bar. The kids each got cookies while I went into (and used. Lol) the restroom. After I came out (yes, I washed my hands :) I picked up the cup I had brought from the apartment and filled it with a mixture of chocolate latte and coffee, grabbed a few cookies for myself, and we headed back here to the apartment. I munched my cookies (chocolate M&M :) and drank my Chocó-latte coffee and started this journal entry.

But before I started writing… I started a load of laundry, washed off and put away the foil-covered cookie sheet that the bacon cooked on, and THEN I started writing.

Yesterday we went to the mall, and even went into a couple of stores. lol. And we found a movie theater! Not really sure what we're going to do today. We might go and play Frisbee at the park. There's a probable chance of rain today, but we may sit in the hot tub later, as long as there's not lightening/thunder. If it doesn't rain and the sun comes out for a while, maybe we'll go swimming AND sit in the hot tub. Nobody knows for sure what will actually happen the rest of the day, now do they. No, they do now. Speaking of hot-tubbing… we sat in it last night and enjoyed the bubbles. "Bubbles in a hot tub?", you ask? Yes, we are pretty sure someone had put some bubble bath in it before we got there. I swear the bubbles were at least a foot and a half to two feet thick before we moved them out onto the edge. If we would have had a good camera with us, the picture would've looked like there were piles of snow around the hot tub. LOL. Anyway, time to continue doing laundry.

Good day it was

Had a pretty good day. I got to sleep in until 9 a.m. It was awesome. Didn't go anywhere today, mostly because it's been raining off and on all day, but also because I just needed to stay home today. Breakfast this morning was totally awesome though. Angelica made pancakes, very tasty pancakes, if I do say so. The rest of my day was spent doing JavaScript homework. Learned how to create a pop-up questionnaire with one that asked for the user to pick a number, then after clicking OK and then get asked by another window how many times they'd like their number multiplied by itself (squared), clicking OK again, then having the answer show-up on the web page they originally opened. Cool stuff. Did a couple of other assignments done since yesterday and only have 3 more to do this week. Not tomorrow though, at least not unless I get some completed before we go to our weekly park day with our unschooling friends. Tonight, the plan is to cook a couple of steaks for the kids and heat up some left over from last night roast for myself. And now? It's time for another tip-off in this NBA season's playoffs. Till later!
