Teaching by example

You've heard (assuming) that the best way to teach is by example. However, I say that that's NOT true for everyone or everything. For example: Because in this family we have 4 computer geeks/ junkies, I've been limiting *my* computer time more and more. Trying to send the message that there's more to life than computers. Unfortunately, for this family, the only one limiting computer time is me. Perhaps now that Spring is inevitable now, it will be easier/more attractive to get us outside doing more. One can hope. Please don't advise me on how to get others to be more like me, or suggest things for me to suggest them to do... tried everything from riding bikes, scooters, throwing frisbee, shooting hoops, working-out on the Wii, etc, etc, etc.

So maybe they all interpret your self restraint as giving them the gift of more computer time! LOL

Since I do tend to get more things done with my non-computer time, they probably see it as less time they need to worry about what doesn't get done. lol

I think spring is your solution--but you might run into a similar problem come the heat of summer.

Well Brenda, that IS about the only thing that'll get them off the Internet for any length of time. LOL
