USDA Tainted Feed Found in Poultry
The tainted feed that killed pets and poisoned pig meat has been found in processed poultry. It is interesting to note that the USDA does not feel it is necessary to recall the tainted meat. It is okay to burden small farmers with NAIS but let’s not hurt our most favored trading partners like the People’s Democracy of China or the big factory farms who are known for hire illegal immigrants.
For the birds: Contaminated feed now found on chicken farms in Indiana
SDA and FDA investigators said Monday that byproducts from pet food contaminated by wheat gluten imported from China were used in chicken feed on farms in Indiana. The discovery came as part of the government’s probe into imported rice protein concentrate and wheat gluten, which have been found to contain melamine and melamine-related products. Full article
